Business / Investment Migration
Business Innovation and Investment Programme (BIIP) is the Australia’s business/investment migration programme which encourages people who have a demonstrated history of success in innovation, investment and business to settle in Australia and contribute significantly to Australia’s innovation system and economy.
Visa options and migration pathway
There are two pathways available. Most of the migrants choose to enter Australia using a provisional visa for a minimum of four years. After satisfied certain criteria in relation to their business or investment activity in Australia, they are able to apply for permanent residence.
As an alternative pathway, business migrants who have high level business skills or have obtained funding from an Australian venture capital firm can apply for a business talent visa which can get direct permanent residency.
The following are the common requirements under the BIIP:
- Nominated by a state or territory government or Austrade on behalf of the Australian government
- Invited to apply
- Meet the additional requirements of your related stream
- Aged 55 or under
